Tent Care

Tent Care & Warranty

Tent Care information and Tips

  • - When drying your tent, avoid using heaters as it can cause shrinkage, affecting the internal frame size. Plan for this when setting up your tent to dry. We recommend air drying it to maintain its shape and size.
  • - Long exposure to the sun's UV rays can damage canvas fabrics, so using a tent fly is recommended for extended periods of time.
  • - When placing or removing the tent over a frame, always have zippers unzipped to prevent too much stress on the zipper.
  • - Mildew can be removed with a bleach solution or a mixture of white vinegar, mild detergent, and water. Bleach can weaken the fabric, so use it with caution.
  • - To clean the tent, always brush off dry dirt or mud with a soft brush. When washing the tent, use only mild, all-natural detergents and scrub lightly.
  • - Never store a damp or wet tent, as this can cause mildew. Always let the tent dry naturally before storing.
  • - If your tent has leaking seams, use a tent seam sealer or buy a fly to stop the leaks.
  • - Keep wood stoves and lanterns away from the canvas to avoid scorching or burning.
  • - Be aware of setting up your tent under trees that emit resins. If possible, avoid this or use a rain fly.

Warranty

The warranty for Yukon Tents Ltd. includes a 100% money back guarantee for the canvas wall tent only, within 72 hours of purchase, but not for accessories such as the rain fly, floor, organizer, fire mat, or frames. The company specializes in manufacturing high-quality, Canadian-made industrial canvas wall tents and offers custom design and repair services.

Yukon Tents Ltd. offers a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, covering items such as defective stitching/sewing, defective zippers, and defective hardware. However, the warranty does not cover damage due to normal wear and tear, hardware or pole failure unless caused by defective materials, or damage due to chemical exposure, mildew, mold, or ultraviolet exposure. The warranty is also voided with the use of cleaning or treatment agents or compounds, torn fabric, or merchandise damaged through misuse, accident, or transportation.

The canvas in the wall tent is pre-shrunk, but there is still potential shrinkage over time, which may cause extra strain on the door zippers. The warranty does not cover fabric shrinking or reduction in size, which may result in the tent not fitting or sizing the frame. The advertised sizes on the products may not always be true to size, and the company is not responsible for the customer's structure building plans or platforms if the tent is purchased without the frame.

The warranty is not valid if the product is used in a commercial application or for housing, although the company will make every attempt to correct any problems that arise under such conditions. The tents are treated for fire retardant (CPAI-84) and water repellent but are not fire or waterproof. Therefore, the company does not warrant that the tents will not burn if subjected to excessive heat or open flame.
